Quality & Compliance of MacPherson Arts & Crafts Produced Kits
At MacPherson Arts & Crafts, quality and safety are not afterthoughts, they are the foundation of everything we offer. For decades, our name has been trusted by reborn artists across North America and beyond, and that trust was built the same way it is maintained: through uncompromising material standards, transparent sourcing, and genuine respect for the craft. Whether you are a seasoned professional or reborning your first kit, you can work with complete confidence knowing that our materials used in our own kits, meet the highest standards the industry demands.
Material Quality & European Sourcing
We source our vinyl directly from European manufacturers whose standards align with our own. Rather than purchasing from general production runs, our vinyl is sourced in dedicated batches that are produced to our own specifications, which means the standards we hold our suppliers to are the same ones we answer to ourselves.
For artists who have worked with different materials, the difference speaks for itself. The vinyl accepts paint with excellent adhesion, roots cleanly and consistently, and produces a finished doll that holds its quality over time.
Sculptor Licensing & Authenticity
Every doll kit produced by MacPherson Arts & Crafts is officially licensed and approved by the original sculptor. It is not a copy. It is not an imitation. When you purchase one of our kits, you are purchasing a genuine, authorized reproduction - one that the sculptor has approved, and sanctioned for sale. We believe the artists who create these designs deserve to be respected and compensated, and we will not sell a kit unless that relationship is in place.
For the reborn artist community, this matters. It means the kit in your hands carries the integrity of the original design. It means the sculptor stands behind it. And it means you can reborn, sell, and display your work with the confidence that comes from working with legitimate materials from a principled supplier.
Safety Standards
All MacPherson Arts & Crafts doll kits conform to both the USA ASTM F963 toy safety standard and the European EN71 toy safety standard.
In practical terms, this means our kits have been tested and verified by independent, government approved laboratories against rigorous requirements covering material safety, chemical content, and physical performance standards applied to children's products in two of the world's most demanding regulatory markets. Whether you are creating a doll for a child, a care facility, a doll collector or your own personal collection, you can trust that the materials meet internationally recognized safety benchmarks.
CPSC Compliance
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is the federal agency responsible for protecting amongst others the safety of children's toys, craft kits, and doll products sold in the United States. MacPherson Arts & Crafts is a registered business with the CPSC, maintaining an active account in their reporting system to support our commitment to product safety, transparency and accountability.
The ASTM F963 toy safety standard referenced above is not incidental to CPSC compliance, it is mandated by it. Under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), adherence to ASTM F963 is a legal requirement for children's products sold in the U.S. market, making our ASTM testing an integral part of meeting federal safety obligations.
For children's products intended for the U.S. market, U.S. law also requires a Children's Product Certificate (CPC), a document based on third-party testing that confirms the product meets all applicable federal safety rules. MacPherson Arts & Crafts supports the CPC process as part of our overall commitment to offering products you can trust.
ISO Compliance
Our manufacturing in select facilities operates under ISO compliant standards, ensuring consistent quality control, traceability, and manufacturing integrity throughout the production process.
