Shelley Marie has been teaching here at our studio for many years.
She also teaches at an artist guild and at some international shows, and is one of only ten in Canada certified by Genesis (the brand of paint we use for our dolls). Believe me you get a great bang for your dollar when Shelley teaches. She can cover many tips and tricks within a day....all with ease and calm!
We run a regular "work bee" several times a year for doll making! This class is appropriate for pre-teen and older.
Just what is a "Reborn Baby" you ask? Reborn Doll making is the fascinating new art of taking a vinyl baby doll, and enhancing it using repainting techniques, to create the look and feel of a real live baby.
The results are simply amazing and the dolls are very often mistaken for actual infants. We will be using a Manga Doll kit produced in Germany in this course. Manga is an 18" kit so this would fit Preemie clothes (0-3 months). All Inclusive including your paint brushes & Lunch.
In this class you will be learning the basics of using heat set paints for skin tones, mottling, blushing, veins, and other details. Shelley will demonstrate how to root hair and a info sheet along with Hair and rooting needles will be sent home with the student to complete.
NOT INCLUDED is an outfit for your doll ... you will need to bring one.
