Mentrual Products for Girls in South Africa
Across Africa, a 2016 study by Human Rights Watch predicted that 1 in 10 girls are having their education interrupted because of their periods. Period poverty is a serious hurdle girls and women encounter daily. Around the world, millions of girls unwillingly miss school because they can’t afford menstrual products.
As a contribution, we helped women and girls in Soweto, South-Africa, by purchasing reusable menstrual products. Having the reusable products helped with a cost-effective way to manage their period. As a result, women and girls will be able to attend school without interruptions. We are honoured to have played a part of the journey to give young girls their power back, one cup at a time.
