# What should I use to weight my dolls?

It is very important to use the proper materials when weighting your dolls.  For instance glass beads are a standard in weighting our dolls, but we do not recommend fine glass grit as it can pose health risks as it is very fine, and can seep through the doll body over time. Never use materials like sand as it is hazardous to the people handling the doll, as well as the integrity of the doll itself.  Additionally never use random materials found around your house, rocks, or aquarium stones. Some of these materials can harbor mold over time.
